Why Discipline Now
The roles collapsed. You know this. BA, architect, developer, QA, ops, titles that described different people now describe different minutes in the same person’s day.
AI did not cause this collapse. AI made it survivable.
Without AI, the collapse would have been a catastrophe, one person asked to do the work of twelve, drowning in context switches, dropping streams, burning out. With AI, it became a transformation, one person holding four streams, directed by judgment, multiplied by tooling, sustained by discipline.
The key word is sustained. AI gives you reach. Discipline gives you endurance.
The Dojo

Timeless Techniques
The SDLC is not new. Requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment, operations, these phases existed before AI. They will exist after whatever comes next.
What changes is the speed and scale at which one person can move through them. What does not change is the judgment required at each step.
AI can generate a 334-file application overnight. It cannot decide whether the architecture is right. It cannot know that the client’s real problem is not what they asked for. It cannot feel that the data model has a subtle flaw that will compound across every table.
These are human judgments. They require human skills. Skills that are practiced, not installed.
The Skills That Endure
Requirements clarity. Writing a specification that an AI can decompose without hallucinating. This is the same skill that made a good BA, the ability to state what is needed without ambiguity. AI raises the bar. Ambiguous specs produce hallucinated phases.
Architectural judgment. Reading a system design and knowing whether it will hold under load, under change, under the weight of six months of feature additions. The constellation view shows you the architecture. Judgment tells you whether it is sound.
